Charge Point Grants

The UK government offers a range of Charge Point Grants to homes and businesses.

Here at Wooldale Renewables we are approved government EV installers for the office for Zero Emissions vehicles (OZEV). 

The grant schemes and how to apply for them are explained below, but please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Grants for your home

Electric vehicle chargepoint grant for renters and flat owners

This grant provides up to £350 towards the cost of installing a chargepoint at your property.

You can apply for this grant if you either:

• Own and live in a flat

• Rent and live in any residential property

• You must have private off street parking

This grant has been extended until 31 March 2027.

From 1 April 2026 the maximum grant will increase from £350 to £500 per socket.

Electric vehicle chargepoint grant for households with on-street parking

This grant provides up to £350 towards the cost of installing a chargepoint at your property.

You can apply for this grant if you either:

• Own and live in a flat

• Rent and live in any residential property

• You must have private off street parking

This grant has been extended until 31 March 2027.

From 1 April 2026 the maximum grant will increase from £350 to £500 per socket.

Grants for businesses, workplaces and landlords

Workplace Charging Scheme.

This grant provides up to £350 per socket towards the cost of installing chargepoints at workplaces. You can apply for grants for up to 40 sockets across all your sites.

It is open to eligible:

• Businesses

• Charities

• Public Sector Organisations

This grant has been extended until 31 March 2027.

From 1 April 2026 the maximum grant will increase from £350 to £500 per socket.

Electric vehicle chargepoint and infrastructure grants for landlords

Landlords can apply for chargepoint grants of up to £350 per socket. Each year you can get up to:

• 200 grants for residential properties such as flats and houses 

• 100 grants for commercial properties such as offices

If you are a residential landlord, you can also apply for infrastructure grants towards the costs of installing chargepoints, associated infrastructure and preparing parking spaces for future installations.

Grants of up to £30,000 per property are available covering up to:

• £350 per chargepoint socket installed

• £500 per parking space enabled with supporting infrastructure

This grant has been extended until 31 March 2027.

From 1 April 2026 the maximum grant will increase from £350 to £500 per socket.

Electric vehicle infrastructure grant for staff and fleets

Small and medium-sized businesses can apply for grants towards the costs of installing chargepoints, associated infrastructure and preparing parking spaces for future installations.

Grants of up to £15,000 per property are available covering up to:

• £350 per chargepoint socket installed

• £500 per parking space enabled with supporting infrastructure

This grant will close 1 April 2026 – the last date to apply will be 31 March 2026.

Grants for education establishments

Workplace Charging Scheme for state-funded education institutions.

State-funded schools and education institutions can apply for grants of up to £2,500 per chargepoint socket.  

You can apply for grants for up to 40 sockets across all your sites.

This grant has been extended until 31 March 2027.

From 1 April 2026 the maximum grant rate will reduce from £2,500 to £2,000.

Electric Car Grant and other vehicle grants

Some types of low emission vehicles are eligible for a government grant. The seller includes the grant as a discount in the purchase price, so you do not need to apply for it.
